One more weekend..!

This post has been confined in a Word sheet for more than one month; thanks to my love for procrastinating posts......

Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could ever invent- Mr.Sherlock Holmes, the bestest detective the world of fiction has ever seen. Thanks to the pretty long weekend, that made me a Holmes lover in a quick go. Weekends are always next to hell when spent in a TV-less room(like ours), save in the presence of a laptop or a good book in hand…and that book did serve its purpose this weekend as well, which made me begin this note with a quote from it itself.

Whenever I’m all alone, it’s natural that my mind flutters from one thought to another. The last weekend when I went to my grandma’s place, it was quite an experience. I managed to get into one sleeper compartment of the giant iron wagon where some old passengers had already taken up their seats. The tea and snack vendors started taking their toll as soon as the train started moving. The fellow old people started their conversation. Their topics were ranging from medicine, to rail coach factories, to internal problems hindering the nation’s development, to bribery…to a lot of brewing issues that take up a lot of space in newspapers. It was quite surprising how they know so many things, and that too with an in depth knowledge about the topics they were discussing. The noteworthy part is that even though they were from different places like Kerala and Tamil Nadu, they knew the pros and cons of being in those states, their government policies and stuffs like that. Being a person who rarely touches newspapers and hardly watch discussions in TV’s, the experience in that train journey was quite a wonderful and enlightening one.

As a resident of a suburban area, the common view from our corridor is the large area of barren land with patches of shrubs, where peacocks and mynas fly around, bordered by the shooting skyscrapers, including my office as well. The still afternoon air and the hot climate which ruins the afternoon nap of weekends is the soul responsible factor making me jot down these lines facing the vast land around. Oh my!! When power will come!!
