Adieu

 Adieu!!

Lost in thoughts she flew across
To the depths of life, which made her so
Swaying and swivelling, rather holding still
Forward she marched, hoping for light.

Tumbled across a shining stone,
Took it up and held it close
Peeked into her shivering hands
Gazed it, 'was dazzling in pride.

Again she moved holding it tight
Little in mind of the owners's plight
Never had she seen a thing so bright
Never will, she again though!

The days've made her weary, not weak
Holding her head up did she walk
The treasure she held made her heart
Skip a beat, but with joy!

Beautiful was it, bright and light
Held it close, as if it was her right
The thought of losing instilled a fear
Why it was, little did she know!

Alas! The time has come at last
To leave it where it really belongs,
Battling her inner mind with might
Took it out and caressed yet again.

The master is waiting with yearning eyes
The little precious, wasn't a stone alone,
She cherished the thing with no less time,
Whispered it close,"I bid you adieu"!
